Two Days Left and Waiting.

Our last two days of being engaged is quite the relief. For the first time in months, we've been able to relax, rejuvenate, and slow down. Since, I have the time now, before the ceremony begins, let me just confess that it has been a long year of planning and preparing. From the venues to the fashion of the Court, Stef and I have been at war with this animal called a Wedding. To be honest, we don't know how anyone does this without losing their heart and mind to the perfection of traditions and breaking them and then some...

First off, we were standing against traditions of both American and Filipino weddings. Next, we were battling against the old generation's taste and our own. Being Artists, we had a long hard conflict between what stays and what goes - hearts were broken, relationships were tested, and in the end everyone grew a bond together. Not sure how we'll ever survive without each other now - friends and family alike. And lastly, our greatest triumph was a virtue I could never stand - and my dear readers, I pray this temptation never finds you, ever at leisure - and that is patience. Day in and day out, we couldn't wish for anything else but for the day to be here at last! People were happy for us, people stressed out over colors and dresses and who wears what, and then people harangued us, as if we didn't know that the wedding was four, three, two, one, and a half months away. Is it really so hard to believe that 12 years in an unmarried relationship can exist? And also, why the wait?

Murphy's Law happens, and it's always best to talk about the adventure over a cup of tea, somewhere between LA and Pasadena, after a bad conversation of how traffic ruined your diet. But until then, please enjoy our wedding, as we celebrate what twelve years of faithfulness has in store for an upcoming husband and wife in the beautiful Arts District of Little Tokyo, in both Gardens of the JACCC and JAM. We look forward to you all!

Let the Cranes Begin!

Something that we've been enjoying is the DIY involved in this wedding. We started by making paper origami cranes for the wedding reception. Cutting scrapbook paper and making these little guys has been interesting. The textures and patterns are coming out absolutely wonderful! Can't wait to share them with everyone!

Cranes are significant to Japanese culture and we thought that we would incorporate them in as we feel apart of the Little Tokyo community. Little things like this allow us to share our love for Japanese culture and their influence in the current art movements of today.

It's About Time

Today, Stefanie and I announced the date of our wedding to our friends and family! It's about time, and let me just say that I cannot be any happier that we've finally found our place and time to be. We've known each other since late highschool: conversing and collaborating, sparring and exploring, challenging each other's artistic stance, and always progressing in our views in life. There's much to be savored, and so much more to tell, but all I must say is what I've always meant for the both of us, and that is to let the whole world know that I love Stefanie Warner!

Yes, Stefanie Warner. I want her to keep her last name, as she will be my Madame, and I her Mister. She's been a very strong woman, and I love her for it.Which hence explains our title -- Mme. & Mr. LA.

We hope to see everyone next year, family and friends, and those who are to be either or all in the near future, to join us in our beautiful matrimony in the place we fell in love: Los Angeles. Invitations will be sent, and more details are soon to come.

See you then!
